When you take your car in for this service, a technician follows a precise, multi-step process to refresh your engine’s lubrication system. First, they raise the vehicle on a hydraulic lift to access the undercarriage safely.

The technician locates and unscrews the oil pan drain plug, allowing the hot, dirty oil to empty into a reclamation catch. While the oil drains, they locate and unscrew the old oil filter, replacing it with a fresh one to ensure future contaminants are properly trapped. Once the old fluid is completely emptied, they reinstall the drain plug with a new gasket, lower the vehicle, and pour the exact volume and grade of fresh oil (whether conventional, synthetic, or a blend) into the engine oil fill cap. To wrap things up, they start the engine briefly to let the new oil circulate, verify there are no leaks underneath, and check the dipstick to confirm the fluid level sits perfectly at the “full” mark.
